Whenever a person is involved with finding the right accessories for their iPAQ, then they are going to want to know exactly what the right accessories might be. Whether you are involved with an HP pocket PC or indeed any kind of PDA from any other company, there are always going to be a number of accessories that you can choose from that specifically reference handheld computers. The choices are literally endless and ultimately what it comes down to is what you want out of those accessories and what those accessories have already demonstrated they have the ability to deliver.
This is somewhat of a difficult concept to grasp from a conceptual level and one of the good ways to illustrate it is through a discussion revolving around secure digital memory. Secure digital (SD) memory is one of the types of memory that a lot of handheld devices use nowadays. Whether you are talking about an HP iPAQ, HP digital cameras or any other devices that you might be interested in, what it ultimately comes down to is that those mobile devices need memory chips to function and one of the more popular types of memory chips is the SD model.
Now, SD memory is manufactured in a number of different sizes and by a number of different companies. When we talk about you picking the appropriate accessories for your handhelds, what we are talking about specifically in the field of SD memory is you choosing the right brand and the right amount of memory. These are both important issues to the overall concept and therefore they must both be considered when you are figuring that part out.
The easier one to figure out is the size of the SD memory; so we’ll talk about that one first. SD memory is usually sold in sizes of 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB and 1024 MB commonly. There are of course larger sizes than 1024 MB and many stores are phasing out the smaller sizes, but these are the most common ones that you’ll find out there in the market. Now, depending on what you want to do, you will start low and go high. The more you want to accomplish with your iPAQ, the more likely you are to need a larger size.
In addition to size, the second element that we mentioned above of course was company. Different companies manufacture SD memory and depending on what you want for your memory, different companies might be appropriate for you to use. Some companies are better for reliability, others are better for durability and still others are better for low price. Sit down and think about what exactly you want from your SD memory and then go out and buy based on what want.

| Choosing the Right iPAQ Model |
| One of the things about pocket PC units that is very impressive to a number of people that haven’t dealt with them before is the fact that there is so much choice available to people nowadays when it comes to handheld devices. It wasn’t so long ago that even using the term handhelds in the plural was a weird thing to do because companies only had one or two of them that had more functionality than a modern day calculator. We’ve come a long way in a very short time and when you look at product lines like Dell or HP, you can see that not only are there a lot available, but there are a lot of specialized units for people that are interested in getting their specific needs met. We can expand on this principle and illustrate it further by looking at one specific product line; the HP iPAQ product line. more |
