WiFi has become a big part of the world today and whether a person is specifically interested in being a part of the WiFi revolution or not, when you are in possession of a pocket PC from HP or any other brand, you are going to find that setting up WiFi on your pocket PC device so that you can plug into the wireless networks available in your area is something that is going to be nothing but beneficial to you in the long run. Many people are interested in WiFi specifically for that reason and ultimately the people that are interested in getting WiFi for their pocket PCs don’t really have to go through a lot when it comes to having that happen.
Now, one of the things that people are concerned about is not so much setting up the WiFi itself on their pocket PC, but rather in setting it up in such a way so that they get the maximum connections to a number of other places. In order to understand this, it is important to understand the theory behind it and therefore how that theory is supposed to work in the long run.
Now, there are a number of different connections that are present in different places that directly look at things such as wireless internet access and the reason that these access points are available is because they are created in buildings and other public places to create hotspots; areas of existence where the wireless signals are broadcast out in order to be picked up by the wireless devices such as cell phones and PDA devices. Now, if you want to configure your WiFi in such a way that it allows you to get the maximum connections possible, then you will want to understand the properties of the hotspots in your area and what you can do to tap into those hotspots.
Wireless connections for the most part are orientated into a few different types. Depending how old the network is and how long since it has been upgraded, you can make an educated guess at what type of wireless network it produces. Understanding not only where these hotspots are around you but also what type of wireless network they broadcast is the first step you need to take. This information can either be obtained from the city or from the private companies that own the hotspots in your area.
Once you’ve figured that out, then the rest is easy. Just getting the right type of wireless interface to put into your palm is all you need to do in order to make sure that your pocket PC has access to the maximum number of internet connections.

| Choosing the Right iPAQ Model |
| One of the things about pocket PC units that is very impressive to a number of people that haven’t dealt with them before is the fact that there is so much choice available to people nowadays when it comes to handheld devices. It wasn’t so long ago that even using the term handhelds in the plural was a weird thing to do because companies only had one or two of them that had more functionality than a modern day calculator. We’ve come a long way in a very short time and when you look at product lines like Dell or HP, you can see that not only are there a lot available, but there are a lot of specialized units for people that are interested in getting their specific needs met. We can expand on this principle and illustrate it further by looking at one specific product line; the HP iPAQ product line. more |
